Use of Dust particles

Clouds are tiny drops of water condensed on dust particles in the atmosphere. The a height of cloud from earth surface   and the temperature of atmosphere decides whether the cloud is composed of ice or water droplets.

The airbourne dust and smoke particles are the Condensation Nuclei during cloud formation. The water vapor condenses when it rises to elevation where the temperature is cool enough to convert these water vapour into tiny droplets of liquid. But water vapour requires some other medium, mainly solid, to get easily condense on it. Water vapour are not visible but as it condenses on dust particle as water droplet it becomes visible as a cloud.
